Your awareness of and balance in each of these areas comprises your own personal Foundation of Wellness, your level of Health and Wellness. It is crucial that we realize the holistic relationship between all of these areas to find our best health and greatest power. For example: Sleep deprivation affects metabolism. Chronic sleep deprivation and obesity are connected. Meditation as well as having fun, finding joy, and using our creativity reduces cortisol and other “stress” hormones. An elevated level of cortisol is connected to weight gain, sleep deprivation, and high blood pressure. Regular connection with others and with our own spirituality directly correlates to personal self improvement – choosing to eat better, be active and enjoy life to it’s fullest.

Moving and eating in the most appropriate way for your body and lifestyle as well as adequate sleep are crucial components to health and wellness. In addition, the inner you, spiritually and emotionally, must be tended to and nurtured, to appreciate the greatest balance of health.
Nearly everything that we encounter in our lives or anything that may be out of balance that affects our health and wellness will fall into one of these 6 powerful categories.
